Common Hawker Aeshna juncea
 
Identification: Large hawker with a powerful flight. Males have a brown abdomen boldly marked with blue, females marked with yellow.
Information: Distribution: all of British Isles, more scattered in south-east Britain. July to October.
Similar species: Southern Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Hairy Dragonfly.
