Common Shrew Sorex araneus
 

Identification: Long, pointed snout with whiskers. Flat forehead makes the head look like a continuation of the snout: cone shaped head. Dark brown fur.
Information: Distribution: widespread thoughout Britain.
Similar species: Pygmy Shrew.
