Identification: Large wader with a long down-curved bill, juveniles can have shorter bills. Call: distinctive 'curlew'.
Information: Distribution: resident to coastal, moorland and upland regions, passage migrant and winter visitor elsewhere.
Similar species: Whimbrel.
