Dunlin Calidris alpina
Identification: Classic small wader with a fairly long bill. Adult breeding have black belly patch. Juveniles and winter plumage require some experience of size and shape to confidently ID.
Information: Distribution: breeds in northern Britain, passage migrant and winter visitor throughout the British Isles, commonest on the coast.
