Identification: Grey-brown fur, head grey-brown above and pale below. Thick based long tail. Mostly seen swimming with only head visible.
Information: Usually nocturnal. Distribution: Scotland, Wales, Ireland and scattered throughout England. Populations in North-west Scotland and Shetland are not nocturnal.
