Redwing Turdus iliacus
Identification: Orange-red underwing that extends onto the flanks. Buff eye-stripe, two-tone bill. Smaller than other thrushes. Classic winter thrush associated with berries. Can be heard often in flight at night in the winter time if you know the call.
Information: Distribution: common passage migrant and winter visitor to the British Isles. Breeds in Northern Scotland.
Similar species: Song Thrush.
