Sand Lizard Lacerta agilis
 
Identification: Dark band with pale border runs along the top from snout to tail-tip.
Information: Males can have green below this dark band from the snout to the rear legs. Distribution: Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey and Merseyside plus a few recent coastal introductions. Restricted to heathland and sand dune systems.
Similar species: Common Lizard is common and widespread throughout the British Isles and Wall Lizard occurs at only a few scattered sites.
