Scarce Chaser Libellula fulva
 
Identification: Dark patches at the base of the wings (smaller patches than Broad-bodied Chaser). Males have a pale blue abdomen with a black tip. Females and immatures have an orange abdomen with a black dorsal line.
Information: Distribution: scattered distribution in southern England. June/July.
Similar species: Broad-bodied Chaser, Black-tailed Skimmer, Keeled Skimmer.
