Short-beaked Common Dolphin Delphinus delphis
 
Identification: Grey uppers cleanly demarkated from pale underparts. Sickle shaped dorsal fin and long beak. Pods move swiftly; often seen as thumbnail 1.
Information: Distribution: south-west England and Wales, Ireland and west coast of Scotland. Can occur more widely.
Similar species: Bottle-nose Dolphin, Harbour Porpoise.
