Southern Hawker Aeshna cyanea
 
Identification: Large hawker. Bright green markings on the body. Males have blue and green abdomen markings. Males have a waisted abdomen. Females have green abdomen markings.
Information: Distribution: All of England and Wales, with two separate populations on the west coast of Scotland and around the Moray Firth. July to September.
Similar species: Common Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Hairy Dragonfly.
