Storm-petrel Hydrobates pelagicus
Identification: Small black and white bird fluttering low over the sea. White under-wing bar.
Information: Distribution: pelagic, breeds at inaccessible sites on the west and northern coasts of the British Isles.
Similar species: Leach's Storm-petrel has forked-tail and grey upper wing-bar. Storm-petrel ID requires experience and is not for the beginner.
